Today the folks went out and I had the crazy idea of borrowing Da’s shed, equipment and tools to make a paddle.
I started off by selecting a suitable piece of wood…which i couldn’t find cos Da only has MDF in his shed at the mo and that stuff is shite.
Then I found two pieces of perspex.
I selected one piece and drew the shape that I wanted then hand sawed it into shape. Took bloody ages and I got cramp!!!
Oh, the dimensions are
- 15 inches long.
- 5.4 inches wide.
- 3 mm thick.
Then I saw Da’s jig saw so I drew an outline on the second piece of perspex, which happens to be thicker, and managed to make a much neater looking paddle.
this one is
- 14.9 inches long.
- 5.2 inches wide.
- 4 mm thick.
The paddle looked great. Smooth lines, firm yet subtle..nice.
Then I saw Da’s drill and had an idea.
I found a drill bit and drilled 15, 5 mm holes in the first paddle.
It looked good so I picked up the better paddle and found a larger drill bit.
That paddle has 13, 7 mm holes.
I’m not sure though if this makes me creative or crazy.
What do you think?
Love to Mum, Dad and Worzel.
